3f8h.net equips 20 workstations at Leo Burnett GmbH in Frankfurt with Q2ID (Quark to InDesign) from Markzware.
Existing Quark documents are now being converted to InDesign on a daily basis.
Walter Figge, Group manager Production design comments: "Q2ID plays a crucial role in the switch from QuarkXPress to InDesign. The annoying process of converting Quark documents from version 6 to version 5 then to version 4 and finally opening the document InDesign is no longer necessary. With Q2ID, the documents are immediately ready for use. In some cases, the Markzware’s conversion routine is even better than that of InDesign.
Q2ID, it should be noted, converts all versions of QuarkXPress, even 6 and 7, which InDesign itself can not open at all.
Special cases like scaled text on a path which could not be directly converted were analysed by 3f8h.net/electronic publishing and Markzware and an update was usually ready within a day. This is an exemplary service which is not normally found in this line of business. The price does not appear reasonable at first sight but the software amortises itself quickly." |
